Snippet Sunday: May 10, 2015

First of all, Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!

I am still going to continue on with my work from Camp NaNoWriMo, Darkness Becomes Her. A dark fantasy novel in the works yet.

Picking up right where I left off for last week’s snippet. This is still coming from the prologue of the novel and in the point of view of my villain. She is still talking to the same man that showed up unexpectedly behind her. My villain had just told him that maybe he doesn’t know her true reasons for wanting an heir.

Please still keep in mind that since this is a first draft, it is rather rough and unedited yet. (Some sentences may have been creatively punctuated to fit the ten sentence limit.)

“But you need no true heir, you have no legacy or lineage to pass onto them; there is no purpose for such. This is merely all for your amusement, your twisted sense of joy at the cost of others. Please, I ask of you to leave this girl alone. If you had not yet found what you were looking for in the twelve others, you will not find what you seek within another. Face it, Ciara, this is pointless of you to do,” the man answered, getting slightly braver despite the snarling beast in front of him.

I sneered even more, my face contorting in disgust and hatred. Pathetic fool; believing what he was doing and attempting was for the good of everyone, was the right thing to do. I hated the thought of it: of something “good”. They were all the things that made up weakness, that made up the ways in which you could hold leverage over a person. Of course, those things came in handy when they worked in my favor.

But I would never be prey of one, and nor would my Heir.

Check out my works on Wattpad for some other stories I already have posted!

And if you’re looking for some other of fellow authors,

hope on over to Facebook and check out Sunday Snippets!

  1. Ah… yes, the urge to dynastic victory! I like that you used Ciara as a male name. So few people do. Or did you (thinking back on the title)….

Either way… I feel for those girls. They may not matter in the grand scheme of the story, but we can already imagine what they must have gone through.
