Lilith’s Kiss (Wednesday Words 7.27.16)

Welcome to a piece of Wednesday Word’s flash fiction on Darkling Dreams!

A good friend of mine, P.T. Wyant, is doing a blog post every Wednesday called Wednesday Words with a new prompt for a bit of flash fiction writing, just to get in the habit of writing something, anything. (Even if said flash fiction is complete garbage at the time. Garbage is better than nothing though, right?) If you’re looking for some inspiration yourself or just something to aimlessly write, then go check out her blog for this week’s prompt!

With that being said, I am going to share what I came up with for this week’s flash fiction prompt based off a three word combination prompt. So here is my very rough around the edges minute of inspiration based off her prompt. I’d love to hear what you guys think of it!

(Please excuse any errors you may see, I said it was rough around the edges.)

Lilith’s Kiss

The sound of dress shoes tapping across the mosaic greeted her ears first, the sound bouncing around the large, high ceiling chapel. A small feral smile tugged at her lips as she ducked her head to look backwards out of the corner of her eye. Her silky black hair cascaded over her shoulder. She could see the polished shoes and the dress pants of her approaching visitor walking down the main aisle between the pews. Her grin spread a little and she looked back up, staring at the stained glass window art of angels falling from Heaven, their wings burning to black.

“Well, well,” a deep voice echoed to her. “If it isn’t Lilith.”

Her grey feathered wings shifted as she turned around, smiling seductively at the horned man. “If it isn’t Lucifer, walking amongst the aisles of the Church so sworn against you. Such mockery, such is your style.”

“You are no less welcomed in these doors, Lilith. You are Fallen, too.” His amber eyes burned with an intensity that made heat bubble up inside her.

“Not as Fallen as you, my dear.” Her smile was sickly sweet now and her wings opened in a flourish, blocking the light coming through the faceted window to cast shadows over the King of Hell. “I do believe the color difference — my grey to your black — proves I am not so far under from Heaven as you.”

Lucifer’s lip curled in a sneer, coming to a standstill only inches from her. His burning eyes raked over her shapely figure, all the right punch in all the right places. She was the picture perfect of divine beauty. The most beautiful Angel who had ever walked Heaven, and even now as a Fallen she was still the most beautiful. He tried to snuff out the lingering lust and love inside him that had gotten him into this mess in the first place and pulled his eyes back to her face to find her smiling that seductive innocent grin.

“What’s the matter, Lucy?” she taunted, reaching and running her hands up his chest then onto his shoulders to wrap around his neck. She leaned close until her body nearly pressed against his, her full lips centimeters from his ear. “Having some naughty thoughts you still can’t resist of my charms?”

His amber eyes darkened and he grabbed her wrists harshly, pushing her back. “Had it not been for you ways, demonness, I would never have fallen with the others. It was your tricky that led to the rebellion and my Fall. And what did you get? A slap on the wrist and sent to Earth.” He then smiled a perfect gleam of white. “But let’s not forget, I ended up with the realm of my own, you are stuck on this mortal plane.” He leaned to her ear now, whispering, “I am a King, you are nothing.”

Lilith’s perfect smile turned into a sneer and she yanked her wrists from his grasp. “You are only jealous of what you can no longer have.”

“Am I?” he taunted. He reached up and brushed her hair back behind her ear, then suddenly grabbed a fistful of it and pulled her head backwards harshly. She hissed in response, ruby eyes glaring at him a moment. “Jealousy has nothing to do with lust. Your vanity on the other hand, well, that I would attribute to jealousness. All your careful plans of the rebellion only to disappear to the Garden of Eden when it all began. You were simply upset your looks got you nothing in the vote of opinion, that you were passed over, that Adam received the advantage over Eve.”

Bitter anger passed across her face before she chuckled. Lucifer slowly released her hair, smoothing it back out almost caringly. “Don’t be ridiculous, dear. I could have made any Angel fall to my charms. Michael, Gabriel, Uriel… Any of them. You should be honored I chose you.” She ran her finger over his lips and it caused him to shudder, wings shifting behind him. Her own lust sparked in her eyes for him. Her gaze traveled up to his curving horns and she reached up, pricking her finger on the end of one before licking the drop of blood off herself, grinning.

“I should be honored you tricked me into becoming a Fallen?” he sneered.

Her smile grew. She sidled up to him in a predatory way, wrapping her arms back around his neck and arching her body against him. “Yes,” she whispered so seductively that he shivered, his eyes closing a moment. She nipped at the bottom of his ear. “Because only you got to lust after me and claim that price, Lucifer. Only you have the notches on your bedpost.”

His hands trailed up her thighs to her hips, pulling up her revealing shirt. He opened his eyes and locked gazes with her, both burning in intense passion. His fingers traced the winding serpent inked on her side. “You are bad news, Lilith.” His voice was husky and drawn tight.

“Am I?” she teased, one hand trailing up into his hair as she pressed herself firmer against him. “Huh, I guess that makes me a fitting match for you, King of Hell.”

Before Lucifer could answer, she planted her lips deeply against his. A low, primal growl wound up Lucifer’s throat. He squeezed her waist tightly before bringing one hand up to fist in her hair again. His senses left him just as they had that very first time, struck and bound by lust and love for this heavenly Fallen Angel. His powers wielded as fire rose up around them, opening a portal to his dominion as they both drifted down through the flames. The only evidence of the two divine beings ever stepping foot in the Holy ground were the two lone black and grey feathers that drifted down to the floor after the flames had smoldered away, laying black overtop grey.
